Defensive Tactics Instructor Course - 2024 - Defensive Tactics Instructor Course

Full Description: This course is designed to provide the Student with the skills to be able to safely and effectively conduct hands on defensive tactics training. If the student is a police or peace officer, they must be employed at such time of attendance or if they are a civilian be authorized to attend such in-service training by their law enforcement employer or a [DCJS] recognized law enforcement partner. In order to be completely certified as a DT instructor students will need to have a completed the Instructor Development Course.

Resources Required: Medical evaluation required/ Signed and Stamped Medical Form due before start of class.

Training uniform for students: Tactical pants, shirt, and footwear (sneakers are acceptable for physical training sessions) duty belt with keepers, training handgun, handcuffs with key.

Reporting Instructions: Please report to the Academy at 0800 to begin class.

Signup Details: A portal account is required to register for classes. Registration by phone or fax is not accepted. TRAINING OFFICERS: Authorized officials may register multiple officers from their agency in a class.
