Full Description
This course is designed to provide the Student with the skills to be able to safely and effectively conduct hands on defensive tactics training. If the student is a police or peace officer, they must be employed at such time of attendance or if they are a civilian be authorized to attend such in-service training by their law enforcement employer or a [DCJS] recognized law enforcement partner. In order to be completely certified as a DT instructor students will need to have a completed the Instructor Development Course.

Medical evaluation required/ Signed and Stamped Medical Form due before start of class.

Training uniform for students: Tactical pants, shirt, and footwear (sneakers are acceptable for physical training sessions) duty belt with keepers, training handgun, handcuffs with key.

Please report to the Academy at 0800 to begin class.
